Meeting the Need
Room for Joy is in the process of launching full-time operations to facilitate building rooms and streamlining operations. This incorporates a permanent work site and full-time staff with expansion capabilities.

Phase One: The first phase of the plan is dependent upon developing a minimum of six months of operating capital. We are seeking visionaries who would participate financially and underwrite the operational expenses for a period of time over the next three years.

This would enable the Room for Joy team to design, develop, build, and install rooms and generate public interest to the level that would provide all the majority of the funding necessary to perpetuate the provision of Rooms for Joy. These visionaries will bring about hope, action, and love to these children, many of whom feel empty and alone in their struggle for life.

The first phase will include the installation of all the shop equipment and the venting out of the building to meet OSHA standards for both the wood shop and the paint shop. It will include offices and amenities. Currently, plans are prepared to set up a room vignette that will demonstrate the workmanship and quality of a room design to potential donors.

We are currently looking for a business owner who could donate space for a shop and a couple offices.

In summary, Phase One consists of setting up shop, offices, and adding the appropriate personnel to provide rooms for these children.

Phase Two: Once we have the team operating successfully, the permanent residence established, cost effective installation of rooms, and when the Board of Directors is satisfied with the performance, we would expand by adding additional Room for Joy teams.

A team consists of the Designer/Project Manager who meets with the family and determines the theme for the room, develops the design, and coordinates the project from conception to completion; a Family Life Coordinator that works with the family and sponsors to plan their weekend trip away from home; a Volunteer Coordinator who organizes the volunteers and specialized contractors to install the room; and two Artists. Every room will still require a number of volunteers. We are blessed with over 250 volunteers currently who give of their time, talents, and resources.
